January is a time for new beginnings, reflection, and renewed commitment to the wellbeing of our community. At WINGS, we believe every person deserves a life free from fear, and this month offers an important opportunity to raise awareness about the services available to families experiencing domestic violence in Dublin and throughout rural Georgia.

A Safe Haven When It’s Needed Most

Our 24-hour crisis hotline and emergency shelter provide immediate safety for women, children, and families in urgent need. Whether someone is seeking a safe place to stay, guidance on safety planning, or simply a compassionate voice during a frightening moment, our team is here every hour of every day.

Comprehensive Support Through Every Step

We offer a wide range of survivor-centered services designed to help families rebuild their lives with dignity. This includes legal advocacy, assistance with protective orders, court and hospital accompaniment, case management, transitional housing, and financial and transportation support. Our goal is to walk alongside survivors as they move toward long-term stability and independence.

Programs That Empower Adults and Children

Healing is not a journey anyone should take alone. WINGS provides weekly support groups for adults and children, parenting classes for survivors, and specialized services to help families process trauma in a safe and encouraging environment. These programs help rebuild confidence, strengthen family bonds, and create pathways to a violence free future.

Education and Prevention Across Rural Georgia

We are committed to preventing domestic violence before it starts. Our team regularly partners with schools, churches, civic groups, and local organizations to offer educational presentations on healthy relationships, warning signs of abuse, and community resources. By increasing awareness across Laurens, Bleckley, Dodge, Johnson, Telfair, Wilcox, and Wilkinson counties, we work together to make safety and support accessible to all.

How the Community Can Help

Your involvement makes an enormous difference. Whether through volunteering, donating needed items, or spreading the word about our services, your support strengthens our ability to offer hope and healing. January is an ideal time to learn more, get involved, and help ensure survivors know they are not alone.

If you or someone you know needs help or if you want to learn more about our programs, visit www.wingsdublin.org or call our crisis hotline at (478) 272-5880. Together, we can build safer, stronger, violence free families across Georgia.
